Principal owner Mark Attanasio was on hand to introduce Stearns. At 30, Stearns easily will be the youngest general manager in the major leagues. 10 Questions About the 2016 Brewers

Here we go – the beginning of the first rebuild season. For the first time in years, Brewers fans have no reason to think “you never know, this could be the year.”  This won’t be the year.  For the first few weeks we’ll be trying to keep track of who the hell these guys are.  […]

2016 Reds Preview

Once again this year, Brian of Reds blog Chris Sabo’s Goggles answered some questions of ours concerning fellow projected basement-dwellers the Cincinnati Reds.  If the experts are to be believed, our Brew Crew will be fighting off those pesky Redlegs for fourth place in the NL Central all summer. Brewers 2016 Preview at CSG *** TBB: […]

Athletes and Gluten Free Diet

Gluten-free diet has been gaining popularity nowadays. Models, actors, and now athletes are also joining the fuzz. But what is indeed a gluten-free diet? Will athletes gain more health and performance benefits with this kind of diet? What are the advantages and downside of this? All those questions will be discussed further in this article. […]

Brewers Doppelgangers

When David Stearns was hired as Brewers GM last year, I thought he resembled Ryan Braun a bit. He had a similarly thin frame, dark hair and a long nose. The eyes were of familiar effect. But until I paged through one of my baseball-card albums recently, I didn’t realize precisely what about Braun my mind had […]

Scenes from Brewers On Deck 2016

Although the Brewers are at the beginning of what we suspect will be an arduous rebuilding process, you wouldn’t know it if you attended the annual On Deck event yesterday. I’m not licensed to estimate crowd sizes, but yesterday’s turnout seemed on par with the previous two years, which included free admission in 2014 and […]

How Do We Feel About the Brewers Encouraging Childhood Obesity?

I was concerned when I saw the headline that the Brewers announced changes to the 2016 Miller Park experience today.  Last year, some of the updates the Brewers made to the ballpark experience were real buzzkills.  I still haven’t fully recovered from the loss of Milwaukee Brewing Company’s O-Gii from Miller Park concession stands.  Change […]

A Lukewarm Tribute to Elian Herrera (Both of Them)

Another small part of the Brewers’ rebuilding plan unfolded last weekend with the little-noticed news that utility player Elian Herrera signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers. Thus the Herrera era in Milwaukee came to an understandably quiet end. Fittingly, he’ll be returning to the organization he started his career with. Herrera was no […]

How Do We Feel About a Gay Minor League Player Winning an Award for Being Gay?

In August, it was a pleasant bit of news when Brewers minor leaguer David Denson became the first MLB-affiliated player to publicly come out as gay.  It was certainly a more uplifting “first” for the Brewers as compared to First Team to Eliminate Itself from Serious Playoff Contention.  Tom Haudricourt’s lengthy story that served as […]

Brewers 2016 All-Fan Giveaways: Will We Ever Reach Bobblehead Overload?

On Monday, the Brewers announced their 2016 All-Fan Giveaway schedule, and there was much rejoicing (probably).  There will be seven bobblehead Sundays, including the likenesses of Craig Counsell, Ryan Braun, Jimmy Nelson, Greg Vaughn, and the now traditional BobbleHank – although this one will bark.  The “Free-Shirt Friday” promotion returns for a third year, with […]

10 Best Brewers Wins of 2015

Even though the Brewers’ 2015 win total was their lowest in a decade, some of them were bloody good fun. Interestingly, quite a few exciting wins came against the Cardinals, even though the Brewers only beat St. Louis six times. There wasn’t a lot for Brewers fans to cheer about in 2015, and although I’m […]
